Baby's Day Out: What to Bring
I used to stress out whenever we plan to go out with the baby. I tend to bring more stuff than what is actually needed. In fact, if I could bring the whole house to make sure I forget nothing, I surely would have done it like seriously.
Now that I'm a mother of two, I have finally come up with a list on what I think are the most essential things to bring when we go out with our baby.
Diaper and Wipes/Wet Cotton
Fact: Babies just eat, sleep, and poop. Another fact: Babies will do it anytime and anywhere. The number of extra diapers to bring depends on the peeing/pooping habit of the baby. I usually bring 3-4 diapers but I only get to use one or two most of the time.
For cleaning, I prefer to use cotton balls soaked in water. I put these on milk storage bottles for easy handling. The wipes is just something I bring in case I ran out of wet cotton.
Extra Clothes
In case of diaper leaks and spilled milk.
Feeding Bottle and Milk
Since I'm no longer breastfeeding, I have to bring formula, and feeding bottles.
I also bring water so I don't need to buy outside.
Nursing Blanket
Back when I was still breastfeeding my little man, I bring nursing blanket instead of the feeding bottles.I'm all for breastfeeding and I believe it should be acceptable to even do it on public.
However, I hate getting unwanted stares from people who thinks that breastfeeding should be done on comfort rooms. *eye rolls*
Stroller or Baby Carrier
I gave birth to an eight-pound baby and he's gaining weight day by day. I definitely need something to help me bring all that weight. This would also allow me to use my arms for something else, such as bringing grocery bags. Also if the little man decides to sleep, he can just lie down on the stroller comfortably.

These are some things I find necessary to bring when going out with the baby.
I know babies are different and each may have different needs, so my list may not be sufficient for some.
I would love to know what stuff you bring for your baby when you go out. :)
If you wish to add something that you think I should bring on our next day out, please feel free to leave a message on the comments section.

I have three children, and I brought less and less stuff with me on outings. I would make sure the baby was fed and changed before we left, and then I would just put a spare diaper in my purse. But I also had to pack for the older kids (snacks, water, etc), because they complain a lot more!
ReplyDeleteIt actually took me two children to finally come up a list. XD
DeleteGreat post! Change of clothes is key!!
ReplyDeleteI had a diaper leak experience before and I had to buy new baby clothes. T_T
DeleteIt is great that you figured out the minimum amount you need to go out with your kids. I always overpacked and vacations were ridiculous. I was never caught of guard, but I always looked like I was in the process of moving! This should be helpful to many moms!
ReplyDeleteOVERPACK! Yes! That's the word I was looking for. Haha. I'm guilty of overpacking and people would sometimes make fun of me asking if I am moving away.
DeleteThis is a great list and I agree with everything that you have listed. My two are 8 and 5, and we still have a bag packed for when we venture out! Obviously not with nappies, but changes of clothes and wipes are a must.
ReplyDeleteYessss! I don’t think I’ll ever go out with children without wipes. Haha!
DeleteMy kids are older, but we still keep wipes and a change of clothes in the car. You just never know what you might encounter!
ReplyDeleteAgree! :D
DeleteI always seem to bring more stuff than needed. It's also a good idea to bring a change of clothes, even just a shirt, for you too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Haha! This made me remember the time when my husband was changing the baby’s diapers. Happens that the baby wasn’t finished with his business yet. Haha. I had to buy the husband a new shirt.
DeleteA great list here - it is all Definitely needed , I tend to take out so much more , just in case :)
ReplyDeleteI still do, too. Hihi. Better to bring more than to miss something
DeleteI’m guilty over overpacking also when I take the kids out. This is a great list to showcase the essentials.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I’m guilty of overpacking myself. Hihi
DeleteThis is a good list. I either overpacked or underpacked when I had a baby. It's something I'd love to do again when I one day have another...master the art of packing.
ReplyDeleteI had to have two children to come up with this list. I even think I still overpack at times haha
